Take the Vault Hold & Win Slot Review
The moment we fired up the slot machine we noticed a few things. The bandit flanks the left side of the reels which becomes animated when you get a payout. Moreover, a Wild West town that looks more like a dustbowl serves as the backdrop for the reels.
The betting range is wide starting with $0.20 to $300 per spin. That’s significantly wider than their previous release Rock Star World Tour Hold & Win.
The symbols on the reels are the low and high pays. Keep an eye on the diamond symbol because it’s the premium. When 5 of them appear, they award a win of 2.5x the stake. You only need two matching diamond symbols on the reels to win a cash prize.
For the remainder of the symbols, you need at least 3 matching symbols. The bandit is the wild symbol which transforms into a TNT symbol and there are two Bonus scatters.
The first one is the Golden Vault, and the other is the scatter with the bull horns. The latter is responsible for triggering the free spins feature.
Slot Bonuses Take the Vault Hold & Win Slot
Detonate Wilds Every 10 Rounds
The clock is ticking with this slot. The Detonator Countdown feature plays out throughout 10 spins. The timer starts at 10 and when it reaches 0, the bandit hurls TNT onto the reels.
When the Bandit symbol lands on the reels it converts into wilds. The interesting thing is that it sticks to the reels until the Detonator Countdown reaches zero. The wild steps in when it replaces symbols adjacent to it except for the Scatters.
Hold & Win Feature
The Hold & Win feature triggers when 6 or more golden vault scatters populate the reels. You’ll receive 3 respins which resets every time a golden vault scatter lands.
You can win 1 of 4 jackpots during the feature starting with the Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand Jackpots:
- Each Mini jackpot symbol that locks on the reels pays $15,000.
- Locked Minor jackpot symbols pay $30,000.
- Locked Major Symbols offers a cash prize of $150,000.
- The top jackpot is $300,000 when a bunch of Grand jackpot symbols lock on the reels.
The hold & win feature does not trigger during the free spins feature.
Free Spins
Triggering the free spins feature is a mini slog since we could not trigger it after 70 spins. Therefore, we have reason to believe that the average free spin trigger is 1 in 120 spins.
Now, you need 3 or more scatters to trigger the free spins feature for 15 free spins. This is where the bandit comes in, he’ll randomly toss 5, 7, or 10 TNT wilds onto the grid.
After every free spin, they’ll explode offering payouts according to matching symbols. Unfortunately, there are no free spin retriggers, and the Hold & Win doesn’t trigger during the free spins feature either.
Buy Option Free Spins
If you don’t want to wait for 3 scatters to show up. You can purchase 15 free spins with up to 10 random wilds for a price of 100x the stake.

Verdict
Unlike the previous Take the Vault, Betsoft touched this one up with a Hold & Win feature. Technically speaking it has a bit more bite and it has a jackpot of 1,000x.
Don’t even bother playing the slot for low stakes because it’s a cash cow. Yes, it’s risky and it’s not for small-budget players. Furthermore, it’s a progression slot with a Progression Countdown over 10 spins.
The Sheriff symbol converts into TNT symbols which transform into wilds. The slot will then award payouts in case there are matching symbols.
Triggering the free spins feature is quite the grind but we don’t have any qualms. For the simple reason if you trigger it the payout can be exceptional.
We played the slot and managed a phenomenal 10 wilds in the free spins. Note that before the bonus rounds start, the bandit hurls 5, 7, or 10 wilds onto the grid.
At 20 cents per spin, we won $100, it’s a win of more than 500x our stake! Take the Vault is a brawl and most probably one of the slots to watch in 2024.
If you’re up for another slot with a few streaks of its own, check out BGaming’s Keepers of the Secret. Of particular interest is the Jaguar bonus and you can win up to 12 free spins.
